Thanks so much to all the teachers for your help with jurying the work and getting it ready to hang!  Thanks to all the volunteers that helped to hang the show!  Thanks to all 300 artists for the loan of their work! 

Boonchai creates images that speak to the former glory of the places photographed.  Viewers are called to meditate on the images and on the transience of man.

Entner is conceptually and technically drawn to a multidisciplinary practice involving video, installation, and performance.  “I see myself as a creator of things and situations.”

OPENING: Saturday, May 22, 12-3pm

Farmilant's images explore the idea that the human presence remains a part of the history and narrative of these now uninhabited places.  The image is an historic record of a moment, a place, a community, and a service that no longer exists.

Painting is another way for me to improvise...another way for me to channel my artistic energy other than through the guitar. As with the guitar, I am entirely self-taught.

Legendary Blues guitarist, Kim Simmonds' paintings will be on exhibit in the Arts Cafe Gallery during the week:  Tuesdays - Fridays 10-5pm and Saturdays 12-3pm.  An artist reception is planned before his performance with Savoy Brown on July 3rd, from 6pm to 7pm.  Come meet the artist!

CALLING ALL QUILTERS!

The Earlville Opera House will be holding a community quilt show in the West Gallery from July 10^th – July 31^st. EOH would like to invite local quilters to exhibit their quilts to celebrate this region’s rich quilting culture.  We need your quilts by July 3rd.  Thanks!

Jim Loveless and his former students Ray and Leslie Wengenroth met on Monhegan Island in Maine for many autumns to paint and talk about art. Photographer Jim Leach joined them along the way. Now they've taken to the road, and the result is Traveling Landscapes...

"A teacher-student relationship that began when Jim Loveless was a 30-something instructor and Ray Wengenroth was an eighteen-year-old freshman has matured over 40 years, adding many layers and nuances, but always grounded in art. Leslie (then Heaslip) was a Loveless student, too, at a time when Colgate first enrolled women. To see the three together now is to witness the evolution of a friendship that sprung from the studio and classroom, emerging as anything but stuffy." Barbara Mink is from Ithaca, NY.  She is a member of the Greater Ithaca Art Trail and a Board Member for the State of the Art Gallery in Ithaca.

Kim Waale is from Manlius, NY.  She has an MFA in sculpture from Syracuse University. She currently teaches at Cazenovia College, where she is Director of Studio Art.

Sharon Gordon has her painting studio in Syracuse, NY.  She has a Fine Art degree from Skidmore College.
