This passion started out by repairing a 1920's "Anybody Chair "...which was a simple chair in the corner of the dining room, to pull up to the table for the extra seating. Kathy found a caning instructional book at the Old Forge Library, up in the Adirondacks, and followed the directions.

"In our increasingly fragmented and technological society, I am searching for that classical, regional vision of America I grew up with – one I believe is comprehensible best through photography. Toward this end, I work to produce photographs that are objective, yet contain a sublime beauty, order, and harmony."

"My experience with clay has been a sheer source of inspiration. The mobility of the material is amazing. Clay can easily take on the appearance of another material and appear man-made, synthetic or natural. In my work I strive to showcase that versatility."

“Driving in Iceland I explored drastically changing landscapes formed over thousands of years through earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and geothermal activity. Iceland sits between US and European tectonic plates and is being torn apart as tectonic plates drift. I wanted to document this constant movement of surreal and beautiful scenery through motion capture. These landscapes are both minimal and complex."

"Blame it on the sound of putting my ear to the shoulder of my dad’s 50’s gibson acoustic guitar when I was 4- I heard the vibration in the wood in my ear on my face – it wasn’t what i played – I couldn’t “play” (but, I could play) and I was transported by the sound and how it made me feel – how it took my attention and dropped it right into that magic box – it vibrated ME – it was a perfectly private moment. Try it sometime."

   Sunday December 16, 2018 2:00 PM ET

For thousands of years, sailors navigated by the stars, trusting the constellations to keep them on the correct course. The same celestial bodies that led them away from home were the same ones that directed them back. Since childhood, Eric and Leigh Gibson’s guiding stars have been songs recorded by music’s greatest brother duos: the Monroes, the Louvins, and the Everlys, whose close harmonies have captivated listeners for decades.
