Same Blood Folk Band’s style resonates with the roots of Americana and traditional music, bluegrass and rock, for compelling and soulful original songs. Their innovative covers of legendary tunes pay homage to songwriters they admire while adding a personal twist.

Whether performing on giant festival stages or in intimate coffee house settings, Same Blood Folk Band interweaves their musical talents to draw their audience closer with every song. You’ll find yourself humming the stick-in-your-head melodies, singing along to the memorable lyrics, and tapping your foot to the ready beats.

Complementary styles, a deep understanding of musicianship, and a harmony that comes from voices drawn from folks with the same blood make every performance an event you won’t forget.

Jenny Collins' clear-as-honey voice adds depth and character to songs she's written and delightfully balanced harmony to duets. Jenny has opened for such acts as Blues Traveler and Little Feat with evocative layers of resonance and rhythm from the bass guitar while showcasing her natural musical ability on acoustic guitar and the harmonica.

Zachary Collins, cousin to Jenny, took his first music lesson at 6 and wrote his first song at the age of 11. His mesmerizing guitar talents show themselves on occasion without being overpowering or boasty. Zach's voice is reassuring and poetic. He easily moves from acoustic to electric guitar, mandolin, and banjo.

Brendan O'Connor provides a deeply technical and outlandishly funky percussion backbone and joins the others with an appreciation for traditional music. Brendan has played with a series of bands since he began making music seriously five years ago.

Colin Nevison is a recent addition to the band, adding texture and richness to the band's solid sound on the keyboards, harmonica, and popping in for an occasional piece on accordion.

This concert will be a pre-CD Release concert:  "...we are playing all the songs on the album. We are also recording the show that night and folks can buy the recording and we will mail it to them the following Monday. Also, because it is advertised as a "CD Release" we will be accepting ticket stubs from the show as a trade in for a free CD at the Official release in the winter time." Thanks! Zach Collins
