Image: “Recomposition of a Pine Forest,” 2009, 12’ x 10’ x 5’, Pine cones, plastic balls, monofilament, ring boxes  -Detail.

Natural materials display patterns, colors and textures that would be difficult to formulate out of pure imagination.  Koos states, “ When synthetic matter is added, the natural materials guide me in creating lines and shapes that form continuity…”

Comments:  In “Rebirth from Refuse,” a site specific installation including audio, discarded pieces of nature and found synthetic materials are used to enlighten the audience about the beauty of recycled nature.
