Event Description: PEPSI CHOOSES PETERBORO ABOLITION MUSEUM FOR JULY CAMPAIGN The Pepsi Refresh Everything program notified the National Abolition Hall of Fame and Museum (NAHOF) on the morning of July 1 that the NAHOF June campaign had been rolled over to July for another attempt at the quarter million dollars for an abolition museum, an elevator, and a research archival system at the Smithfield Community Center in Peterboro. To receive the $250,000, NAHOF needs to place first or second in public voting on the Pepsi Refresh Everything website. www.refresheverything.com/nahofm The National Abolition Hall of Fame & Museum was chartered by the New York State Education Department in 2007 and has inducted eleven abolitionists. The permanent abolition museum has not yet been accomplished and the museum hall needs accessibility. NAHOF is searching for supporters of this Peterboro project to vote everyday in July and to get others to do the same. The Hall of Fame was overwhelmed by the support received during the June campaign. Loyal daily voters moved NAHOF’s rank up 172 notches the first eleven days of June. This kind of support in July would assure the top rank. NAHOF, and the Gerrit Smith Estate National Historic Landmark, the companion Peterboro heritage site, urge support for the Power of Peterboro by voting every day of July.
